I like to spend some time every New Year writing five-star reviews for my favorite podcasts and books of the past year on Amazon, iTunes, etc. I never remember to write these during the year, but they can go a long way to support podcasters & authors. Some of my faves in 2020...
Season 3 of @othermenpod, about male friendship, is the balm my soul needed this year. Episode 4 is one of my favorite podcast episodes of all time. https://othermenneedhelp.com/season-3
The Reluctant Phoenix, a new podcast from
@jeffsimmermon, is becoming one of my new favorite interview podcasts. Each episode, he interviews someone who dramatically changed careers or the direction of their lives. Episode 7 with @AnandWrites is my fave https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-reluctant-phoenix/id1536818332

One of the best books I read this year was 21 Truths About Love by @MatthewDicks. Amazingly it's a novel told entirely in lists jotted down by the narrator. I have never laughed or cried so much over lists! https://www.indiebound.org/book/9781250103482
Another favorite was The House in the Cerulean Sea by @tjklune. Perfect heartwarming pandemic escapism. https://www.indiebound.org/book/9781250217288
May add more updates as I continue to write reviews. In the meantime, what podcasts and books did you love in 2020? I would love to know!
Some of my favorite storytelling podcasts... @samdingman's amazing @famghoshow, stories of family secrets presented by a very charming host! https://familyghostspodcast.com/
Another good one, especially if you're working on your craft, is @speakupstory, in which experts @MatthewDicks and @elyshadicks break down each story https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/speak-up-storytelling/id1386552794
A project that's near and dear to my heart is Immigration Stories by @soloyochapin and @geographer05. Check out the episode with Edith Gonzalez! https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/immigration-stories-with-nestor-gomez/id1469536611
