I have noticed that for more fantasy-based fur-kinks (TF, Vore etc) there's a scale that seems to go:

Cartoony Fun

Obviously thirsty hijinks

What most would consider 'Scary'

And "I want the erasure of my entire being in such a way as to cause an existential crisis."

I say this mostly because I notice friends up and down the scale, with a theme for those at the bottom being that their fantasies mostly end with identity erasure of somekind, which is an interesting thing to think about from a kink perspective.

It's not even really a death, so much as 'You were once X and you are now Y to the point where X may as well not have existed'. I do often wonder if the interest is tied to a general millennial malaise, and the desire to escape responsibility/general burends? IDK!
