It's horrifying how many were killed in air crashes. Within a year of this photo being taken 2 of those in it (the other being Leigh-Mallory) were killed in air accidents. Another, Tedder, had watched his wife being killed in an air crash the year before.
The photo is of the D-Day commanders and was taken in Feb 1944.
