namjoon is credited to a total of 171 songs as seen on his recently updated KOMCA page. he is the youngest Korean artist to reach this number
RM has been active as a rapper and songwriter since 2007 when he was 14 years old. he has an extensive pre-debut discography under different stage names: Runch Randa (2007), Largo (2008), The Nexist (2008), Randa (2009), Rap Monster (2011-2017)
he was well known and respected as an underground rapper. fellow rappers mention him in their songs - "im more jealous of runch randa than nas or AZ" "with a burning thirst, Kim Runch's recording makes me jealous"

some truly iconic songs were produced during Joon's years as a trainee, like 'Jump'! which was made by him and yoon for evaluation and 'seventeen' which was a track that yoongi actually used to audition with!
his passion for songwriting and production really shines when listening to his first mixtape 'RM' and the song 'Voice' in particular, along with interviews he gave around that time.

joon is an extremely multidimensional creator. his skill as a lyricist is unmatched - wordplay across multiple languages, metaphors, poetic verses - he can do it all. +
but Joon is also a talented producer and composer. he puts feelings into melodies perfectly. a classic example is spring day,,, nostalgic and melancholic but at the same time hopeful.

namjoon contributes SO MUCH to the band's sound. he has had a part in writing almost every song in their discography.
he works incredibly hard for this. songwriting as a process is one in which a little is chosen out of a lot that is created. so he must write and work so much to be able to put out so much music.
an example of this would be the fact that he is credited on 6/7 songs on BE but none of the songs that he wrote with the intention of including in the album made it in the end.
a special mention to how joon also helps other members with their solo projects. more than directly writing lyrics for them, he helps then find their way to words that express their feelings the best.
RM is a true artist. saying he is talented is an understatement. he lives and breathes music. he was born to do music.
