It is better for young people to be in school. But the next fortnight could be an opportunity. Building on prior knowledge and emerging digital habits - i'd like to cultivate more independence, curiosity and deeper understanding....
Spent months setting up a blended classroom and developing students habits of using Google Classroom, Loom videos (these have been a revelation) etc Lessons are pre-recorded as default, videos to explain home learning etc.... should give a foundation for a move to remote learning
A blend of pre-recorded content (explanations/purpose), live lessons and digital assessment tools (Nearpod is my go to) I'm excited for students to also conduct guided independent research & use digital tools unavailable in the classroom (e.g. GIS) to create unique products
Excited to see how it goes and move beyond a one-size fits all approach, giving the flexibility for students to learn independently - but also through live lessons, develop a sense of support, collaboration and community. #geographyteacher #blendedlearning
