So strange to me how non Leeds fans seem to have such strong opinions on Bielsa and criticise us for respecting him as highly as we do so I’m going on a rant (again)
The main argument coming out of this is the “why has he never won major trophies”. He’s not about trophies, he’s all about the process and the journey, football is about winning yes but he’s currently doing something many many people have tried and failed with
There’s (rightly) a lot of focus on the big guns who are always aiming for trophies but Leeds haven’t been that sort of team for 16 years. That’s a hell of a long time to be up shit creek without a paddle. We used to be the best but things change and not always in the right way.
We’ve had it rough, like really fucking rough. Owners, managers and generally just people that genuinely did not give a single fuck about the club or the fans. As a fan that sits with you, it’s your club and your life and people are coming in and ruining it. It hurts.
It’s like a shit tattoo, you go for it at the time thinking it looks good and then you’re stuck with the shite end product (not the best analogy but you get me) Midtable finishes, players not giving a fuck, managerial changes every few month etc etc you get my point.
Bielsa has come in and literally transformed the ENTIRE fucking club. I mean from top to bottom and as a non Leeds fan you just would not be able to understand that. Leeds fans can explain it to you but it’s not the same, you have to have gone through everything to feel it.
And that’s where the problem comes in because if you’re not part of the club you won’t ever get it. It’s not about winning trophies, it’s about feeling like we’re a proper club again and it’s something fans of the top teams will never understand.
Not to mention the mentality these days that a foreign manager can’t come in and have his team playing fucking beautiful football because ‘it’s naive’ and dare I say ‘not the English way’. Leeds fans love it and appreciate it so what the hell does it have to do with anyone else??
As a person he’s incredible, he’s honest, genuine and too modest sometimes 
but doesn’t take shit (hence why left the couple of clubs he did because they didn’t stick to their promises). As a coach (improving players wise) he’s a genius and I refuse to hear otherwise.

So basically the moral of the story is that you can all stick it.
