Can’t be proven. Therefore, this alternate explanation of how living things came to be MUST be true, even though we cannot prove it either. Actually, they don’t even get this far. The assumption is really “Evolution has already been proven, therefore no more proof is needed...”
But science doesn’t work this way. The average person knows nothing about the null hypothesis. In scientific method, we start by trying to prove something wrong, and if we set up a good test and can’t rule out the null, we assume that’s tentative support for our theory...
But that’s NEVER the end of it in the scientific method, other scientists must try to replicate our results, and or look for holes, or alternate explanations. There is almost never 100% consensus - always there’s at least 1 crackpot out there with some crazy alternative, and ....
