Wading into the culture wars to prevent Rao from being elevated to SCOTUS over Barrett/Thapar types is quite different than wading into the culture wars locked arms with Bernie. Hawley will never survive a GOP Presidential primary because of it.
The pulse of the cultural conservative base is a full reopening of the economy- the right to earn a living not a right to government assistance. Ron DeSantis gets that.
Everyone who thinks Hawley is in the right here are the same people who opined that Bernie was a strong general election candidate than Biden. This of course is far from the truth as Trump would have won both the popular vote but also expanded his 2016 EC map.
