at the end of the year I always like to take a break from social media so I decided to watch the 9 episodically star wars films the full way through, and I’ve got some thoughts and updated opinions (thread incoming)
this was my first time watching the movies the full way through since watching the clone wars, rebels and the mandalorian; and I found myself enjoying both the prequel and sequel trilogies SIGNIFICANTLY MORE! I am officially in the “there are no bad star wars movies” camp now
I genuinely think the original trilogy is actually a perfect trilogy of movies and I wouldn’t change them in any way. return of the jedi is a “weaker” film for me, but I don’t think it’s possible to live up to empire, which is the pinnacle of star wars (so it does the job)
the sequel and prequel trilogies aren’t perfect for me…the main issue I had is that there are certain storylines I wish they went through with that they didn’t delve into enough, but just because they didn’t do exactly what I wanted them to do doesn’t make them bad 
in the prequels: I wish they went through with the jar jar bink sith lord storyline (it’s real) and spent more time with vader than anakin
in the sequels: I wish they delved into the fall of luke’s jedi order and the knights of ren had a more prevalent part as the main bad guys

phantom menace, attack of the clones and the rise of skywalker were all significantly better than I remember them being, whether that’s due to the shows piecing together the holes from them or just because the world told me I should hate them? …I don’t know but I liked them all
revenge of the sith is most my friends’ favourite star wars movie and I can 100% get why!! by far the best film from the prequel trilogy and even better paired together with the clone wars
the force awakens was the first star wars film I ever saw in cinemas and I still stand by that it’s top 3 star wars movies…hearing the star wars tune with the rolling text for the first time on the big screen was unparalleled for me, and I’m telling you IT HOLDS UP
I’m also an unapologetic last jedi stan, every time I watch it I just think “THIS IS THE ONE THAT MADE PEOPLE MAD??” I just love everything about it…and I’m not gonna lie it even worked with rise of skywalker better than I remembered
