If you don’t want to believe us and instead want to believe a narrative woven by right wing journalists, Lawrence Fox, the oncology professor and the guy from Right Said Fred then that’s up to you. COVID is a virus and doesn’t care what you believe.
Wear a mask.
Keep your distance from people.
Wash your hands.
Take whatever vaccine you’re offered when you’re offered it.
If you can’t do it for others then do it for yourself.

And similarly, if you’re a doctor and you’re part of the story that “COVID isn’t as bad as we are making out” or “it’s just a normal winter” then you’re part of the problem and history and your colleagues will judge you harshly.
And finally, I know it’s a minority. Like most doctors, nurses and others in healthcare, I do the job because I believe people are fundamentally good and most people want to do the right thing. Social media just artificially amplifies the negative voices.
