So much of my coaching comes from things I wished I would’ve been told growing up in the game ... or ... it comes from things I’ve experienced that I want to make sure they know before they take one more step.
When your time in the spotlight is over, shine it on someone else.

I wish I would’ve known that failure doesn’t define you & every seemingly insurmountable roadblock is teaching you necessary life lessons. Had I learned that earlier it would’ve made me more focused on the journey rather than dwelling on making it to the destination unscathed.
I wish I would’ve learned the necessary ability to actually enjoy the process rather than focus on each result. We focus so much on each result for too long and it actually hinders our process. Performance anxiety is real.
I wish I would’ve learned to actually enjoy every second. The gift of sports as a player is here today and gone in a flash. We rarely get to choose when we’re done. Looking back, I would’ve kept my eyes up in joy & thankfulness more rather than down trying to get ahead.
I wish I would’ve learned to be myself earlier. Instead of looking around at what others had & did well, I should’ve always focused on what my gifts were. A team needs many different things.
You can’t do you well if you’re always trying to be them.
