Ronaldo not winning 2018 Ballon d'or is the greatest injustice OAT.
[A SHORT THREAD].

•League top scorer in 2018 (36).
•World Cup 2nd top scorer (4).
•Most goals (6) and G+A (8) in UCL KO.
•Involved in 50% of Madrid's KO goals (8/16).
•UCL Winner 🏆
Many people say Ronaldo didn't contribute much after QF's so Messi deserves the award for his overall performance.

Should Messi have won it because of this UCL masterclass? He scored 0 and assisted 0 in both legs vs Roma.
All 4 of Messi's KO contributions came vs Chelsea in R16. For Ronaldo, he had 4 G+A vs PSG in R16, and 4 G+A vs Juve in QF's.

Double Messi's KO output (8 to 4) against tougher opposition. Even if Ronaldo did not contribute directly after QF's, his UCL run was clear of Messi's.
He also outscored Messi in leagues (36 to 34) despite playing 2 league games less.
He also outperformed Messi in the 2018 World Cup.

So in all fairness, Messi shouldn't even have been 2nd, although 5th place was wrong, he should have been 3rd. It's a comparison with Modric.
Modric was highly influential in Croatia's route to the final, and arguably the best player of the tournament.

In the UCL however, Ronaldo was more influential than Modric. Because of his blanks vs Bayern and Liverpool, his masterclasses vs PSG and Juve go under the radar.
No doubt Modric was highly influential in Madrid's UCL campaign, but Ronaldo was involved in 54% of the total campaign goals (Group and KO), and 50% in KO stages.

If such was the case to award Modric this award in 2018, it was very clearly Sneijder's award in 2010.
It really is a shame Ronaldo wasn't the first person to win 6 Ballon d'ors. In my opinion, he was robbed.

We are coming for what's ours in 2021.
