Misbah-ul-Haq made his international debut at the age of 26 against NZ in a Test match in which he made scores of 28 and 10 . Although Pakistan won the match Misbah failed to become a regular member of the side. What followed after is history.
Misbah played 75 tests, 162 ODIs and 39 T20Is for Pakistan in which he scored 5,222 runs in test @ 46.62 , 5,122 runs in ODIs @ 43.40 and 788 runs in T20Is @ 37.52 (in total he scored 11,132 international runs).
In his ODI career Misbah scored 42 
+ scores but never managed to score a century with his highest score being 96*. In the year 2013 Misbah was the highest run scorer in ODIs with 1373 runs.


He also holds the record for most no of ODI half centuries in a single calendar year with 15 ODI half centuries in the year 2013. He also holds the record for scoring the most runs in ODI cricket without a career hundred (5,122 ODI runs) .
Misbah also was a decent fielder taking 66 catches as a fielder. Though he never scored a century but won the MOTM award on 6 different osscasions! Under his Captaincy Pakistan played 87 matches, and managed to win 45 matches and lost 39 matches under his captaincy.
He scored most of his career runs as a captain (3003 ODI career runs as Captain) . His batting average as a Captain was 44.82. Under his captaincy Pakistan became the first South Asian team to beat South Africa in a bilateral ODI series at home ~
( Pakistan's first ODI series win against SA in SA) . He also led Pakistan to series win in WI and India.
In his T20I career Misbah scored 3 
+ scores with his highest score being 87*.His unbeaten partnership of 119 with Shoaib Malik for the 5th wicket against AUS (2007) is the highest 5th wicket partnership in T20Is.


He also was the first Pakistani player who reached No. 1 position in ICC T20I batsmen rankings. He was also the first Pakistani player to score a 50 in T20I. He won the MOTM award twice for his brilliant batting performances.
Under his captaincy Pakistan played a total of 8 matches, winning 6 and losing only 2 . His average as a T20I Captain was 43.75.
In his Test career Misbah scored 39 
+ scores and 10
s with his highest score being 161* . Misbah is one of those players to score a century in both the innings of a test match ( 101 & 101* vs AUS 2014) .



Misbah also holds the record for the fastest test fifty ( 21 balls) as well as the joint record for the second fastest test century with Vivian Richards ( 56 balls).
In July 2016, Misbah scored a century against England at Lord's and became the oldest cricketer in 82 years to score a test century.He also is the first batsman to make a Test hundred after the age of 41 since Geoffrey Boycott in 1981.
Misbah hit 81 sixes in his test career 11th most overall and most by a Pakistani. Misbah is also one of those few Pakistani players to score 3 consecutive 100s in consecutive innings. Misbah won the MOTM award 2 times with both coming overseas ( NZ and AUS) .
Under his Captaincy Pakistan played 56 tests won 26 and lost 19 in the process becoming the most successful Test Captain of Pakistan. In August 2016, under Misbah's captaincy, Pakistan achieved the number 1 ranking in test cricket for the first time since 1988.
He led the team to many memorable series win with the most memorable being Pakistan's maidan series win against WI in WI in 2017 ( His last series ).
As a Captain Misbah scored 4214 runs at an impressive average of 51.39. Under his captaincy Pakistan won 11 Test Series the most by any Pakistan Captain.
