Your daily reminder that 'closed schools' means that education is not taking place is a myth. The government has made it a legal requirement that if education cannot take place face to face it has to be delivered remotely through the provision of live or pre recorded lessons
Teachers have learnt new skills and have spent hours of training so this could happen for the benefit of all our students. When children have no access to technology, we prepare paper packs which are then posted home.
Pastoral teams call pupils every day. Safeguarding and work around child protection continues. Children of key workers and vulnerable children are on site so they can be looked after and access technology. Mental and physical well being are still our priority.
It is really disheartening to see that NHS and education are at the heart of all our communities, yet misunderstood, lied about and bashed at each and every opportunity. The demands on both sectors are huge and everyone is exhausted.
