Screaming at each other on twitter gets us no where closer to healthcare. While my family dies I get to see people try to put left each other while refusing to do ANYTHING offline in their OWN districts.
I get it. AOC let you down. Get over it. You preach not expecting anything from political figures then center everything around what a few of them do while refusing to even contact your own rep. I don’t know what to tell you. I really don’t.
I hate every single part of our incredibly cruel system. I hate what it’s doing right now literally to everyone in my community. My neighbor fighting being evicted, the unhoused man outside of our 7/11 and my own family losing what little we had to medical bankruptcy
But I can’t help but want to scream watching ao many of you REFUSE to DO SOMETHING beyond tweeting at blue checks and complaining about people who don’t agree with a tactic one way or another.
No one is going to save us. No one is going to be your leader out of this awful place. Literally no one is going to he answer because we are all the answer. You want healthcare? Wonderful. Me too. GO OUT LITERALLY TOMORROW AND GET VOTERS ON YOUR SIDE
IT WORKS. GETTING REGISTERED VOTERS SIGNED UP SAYING WE WONT VOTE FOR YOU WITHOUT THIS WORKS AND ITS HARD DIFFICULT WORK AND THAYS WHY ITS ALWAYS WRITTEN OFF
If your entire plan of action is to talk about it online instead of meeting your neighbor losing their home, talking to your other neighbor who can’t afford their meds and just tweet at AOC only then no I’m not going to take you seriously
THAT is my frustration. Forcing a vote on Medicare for all isn’t enough. Fighting for a passing vote to force makes a whole lot more sense don’t you think? You claim to need this like me so GET OUT AND DO IT
We have the people. We have the numbers and we have the policy on our side. We need to force every single rep into a corner within our own districts. Every single pillar of the establishment should be consistently challenged. Period.
I’m one person in one district in a corn field in Indiana. We need a lot of “one persons” across the country so we can finally organize with a purpose and take what is ours.
I leave you with this:

“I would not be a Moses to lead you into the Promised Land, because if I could lead you into it, someone else could lead you out of it.”

YOU are the organizer, leader and voice you’ve been looking for.
Tomorrow, I’m going to set up outside of my local CVS pharmacy and talk to people about Medicare for all. I’m going to aim for 25 more voters to sign on in our district saying they won’t vote for our rep without Medicare for all.

Baby steps.
