The whole profession is left in a situation where we know that before we return to work in less than 48 hours there will be another round of significant changes to what we are meant to be providing.

And not only do we know that will happen, because that’s what has happened EVERY time.
But it leaves us in a position where we have to, at the very last minute, communicate clearly & compassionately with our school communities about the impact those changes will have on them

When you make big decisions that impact so many, you need to be informed, make them early enough to plan effectively and there needs to be clarity as to why that decision has been made.
Or you could just brief the media that those pesky teachers are kicking up a fuss again..

I try to stay out of the politics of it all but this is beyond a joke.
School leaders don’t have any more to give.
Teachers are spending each day of their ‘holiday’ riddled with anxiety about what they’ll be asked to do next.
And parents are left without a clue what’ll happen.

As has been rightly pointed out by people responding to these tweets- schools not only are responsible for teachers and children there is a raft of invaluable support staff, admin teams, catering and cleaning staff without which a school couldn’t run.
