When the last set of health measures were imposed, Kenney remarked that he ‘did not go into public service’ to impose restrictions on people. I don’t believe he ever thought of being a politician as ‘public service’ at all. It’s clear that he wants to rule, but not to govern. 1/8
UCP wants a 2-tiered society. They want it so that there is a group of elite rulers who can do anything they want and whom others look up to and admire (think of LaGrange being upset that no one wanted them at graduations). 2/8
The elite echelon should have the best of everything. They should have better, faster health care in nicer facilities. They should have private schools for their children with the best, newest equipment, small groups, and no need to deal with anyone they want to exclude. 3/8
They want to elevate a class of people they call ‘job creators’ because these people pay to elect them and in return, UCP makes sure the workers—the ones who *actually* make the money and keep things running—never have enough salary, education or benefits to move up. 4/8
In this skewed view of reality, ONLY these people with money are worth anything. They need to get the masses to buy into public health measures, but the upper tier should not ever have to do anything unpleasant or inconvenient. They should not have to sacrifice or 5/8
give things up like the peasants who work for them. These people are not defying public health orders! Oh no! They are rescuing the airlines and the travel industry. We should all bow down and thank these rich people for their altruism.

Although we had ample evidence before, what we have witnessed the past couple of days should make it incontrovertible that UCP—the elected, their staff and their hangers on—have no regard or compassion for anyone they consider to be beneath them. And that is most of us. 7/8
Never, never forget what you felt like on the first day of 2021. UCP is not going to change. Their apologies are empty and hollow. As ever, they are only sorry they got caught and the only change in their behaviour will be to try harder not to get caught next time. 8/8
