The deep, fiery, ruby red color of garnet is SO captivating! Regarded as a jewel of royalty for millenia, garnet was a favorite of Egyptian pharaohs, worn by Roman royalty, and gained maximum popularity in Europe the Georgian Period (1714-1830).
It's easy to be entranced by garnet's beauty and fame, but let's talk SCIENCE
. Garnet is beautiful AND scientifically valuable! The most fascinating aspect of garnets is that they contain the history of how they were formed!

Miles within the Earth, garnets crystallize in rocks formed under the crushing pressures and extreme heat of deep geology. Geologists actually use garnet crystals to study the exact temperatures and pressures under which these rocks were formed!
So, if you own a garnet, you own a piece of Earth's recorded history. Pretty AMAZING, right?
