PROVINCIAL UPDATE 1 JANUARY

• Changes from yesterday highlighted
• Table on weekly positivity rates per province
• Table on testing/100k per province

The numbers in the smaller provinces picking up, this was to be expected though with all the inter-provincial movement.
Weekly positivity rates

• Positivity rates for all provinces going up
• Biggest increase this week from LP (+21.8%), NC (+10%) and GP (+7.6%)
• Highest points for WC, LP, KZN and nationally this is also the highest point
• EC averaging over 30% for over 2 months now
Weekly testing/100k

• As usual testing numbers from the last week take a while to reflect but testing has been going up for most provinces
• LP testing is just way too low considering their positivity rate, average new cases and hospital admissions are at all time highs
