Some thoughts on Miami.....I’ve always had a general rule of no RBs in the first round, no WRs in the top 10. Just a general draft opinion I’ve had. Needless to say, I’m probably more willing then ever to break those rules this April given the state of the roster and where we are
from a weapons standpoint. With that said....can’t get behind taking Devonta Smith at 3. He’s special, but I think that’d be a bad idea. Personally, I’m team trade back if somebody wants to come get Fields or Wilson....plenty of teams absolutely fit the bill. If Grier doesn’t
like any deals on the table? Draft Sewell. Cannot go wrong with that pick, and continues to strengthen the line for Tua. We’ve got more than enough draft capital to surround Tua with weapons regardless of if we go with Sewell at 3. Obviously, all of this is subject to change as
FA pans out and we see what Grier/Allen/Engroff do with the roster. Heavy WR in FA probably means they won’t prioritize WR on day 1 (I don’t necessarily agree with this). Same goes for potentially loading up on cheap contracts in FA for OL depth....would lead me to believe that
Sewell may not be the pick at 3. Lot of variables and factors can and will change in the next few months. Assuming we lock into the 3rd pick with a Texans loss on Sunday, I’m pretty firmly entrenched in a trade back. Can still land Smith/Harris or some combination of these guys
If done correctly.
