Fawad Tariq Alam, the man who gave meaning to the word Patience.

A Thread🧵
The boy born on the 8th of October 1985, to the famous first-class cricketer Tariq Alam would go on to become one of the most interesting stories in World Cricket.
Fawad Alam made his first class debut for Pakistan Customs on 22 December 2003 at the young age of 18.

And was selected to play the U19 World Cup next year which Pakistan went on to win, Pakistan seemed to have found a talented left handed allrounder.
In the the final of the 2006-2007 Twenty20 Cup he went on to win the man of the match award for his 54 and wicket haul in losing cause for Karachi Dolphins He was also named man of the series, best batsman and best bowler for that tournament.
He also finished as the fifth highest run scorer in the Quaid e Azam trophy that year, which resulted in him getting an international debut at the age of 21, The worst possible start as he got a golden duck and wasn’t required to bowl at all.
His Test Debut was much more memorable as he scored a majestic 168 in only his second test innings becoming the 10th Pakistani to score a ton on test debut
Surprisingly however he was only given two more test matches and was dropped for 10 years as it will turn out, and remained in and out of the limited overs side, performing well in the 2014 Asia cup and bringing up his maiden ODI Ton in the final in losing cause
He was injured and was not given a chance to play for Pakistan for a long, long time but kept performing well in the Quaid e Azam trophy and didn’t give up in fact he has the 3rd highest first class average of active players min (100 inns) at 56.54
He was given a chance for the Pakistan tour of England in 2020 for tests but failed to make an impact but many still believed in him.
He was given another chance for the tour of NewZealand and scored his second Test Ton in Pakistan’s second innings of the first test, with the most unconventional stance, and he won the performance of the year award for Pakistan for his innings. THE BOY WONDER WAS BACK.
