This whole thing with Trump, Lin Wood, the GOP and obsessive Trump supporters has been incredibly entertaining to watch. All of these people who, at some point had a slim modicum of self respect and professionalism, aligned themselves with Trump. They ignored his batshittery--
and let his uncouth behavior go unchecked for their own gain, because at the time, they were not on the receiving end of the wrath or the crazy. They genuinely believed they were immune to the possible consequences, so they didn't say a word when Trump supporters/Anon weirdos--
began taking over the party, the rhetoric, and pushing the conspiracy theories and batshittery into the forefront. They let Trump roll and his band of insane followers who, in previous decades were regarded as fringe whackos and people who wear tinfoil hats, to gain power and--
speed. But one by one, they started to fall, because eventually, th ebatshittery went just a little TOO far for their own personal sense of well-being. And the second they said even the most benign statements separating themselves from the crazy, they became a new target for--
Trump et al. No one was ever safe, except for Trump himself. And now, the GOP has lost all control of its party and more importantly, its voters. Because now, voters are making decisions based on loyalty to Trump. So now, these politicians on the right are pledging allegiance--
to Trump, not to America, or the Constitution, or even their constituents. To Trump. They are tied to him, for better or worse, and right now, it's "for worse". And now you have Trump's inner circle calling for the VP, a man who has said nary a word about Trump's batshittery--
for four years, to be jailed and executed for treason, and Trump supporters, GOP voters, are buying into it. They are turning on Pence, because he's not willing to do illegal shit to make Trump happy. And they see that as a traitorous act. Which says everything you need to know--
about Trump voters. Their loyalty and allegiance isn't to America, it is too Trump. They don't see crimes against our country as treasonous, they see slights against Donald Trump as treasonous. They see someone who doesn't fully support the President as a traitor, even when--
the President's word and actions are literally anti-American. To anyone who has any knowledge of cults like the FLDS, Scientology, Jonestown, etc, this is the textbook definition of a cult. There is only one person who is right 100% of the time, and it's the leader of the--
cult. And even when the leader is wrong, blatantly wrong, anyone who stands up and says so is a traitor and must be shunned, ousted, dismissed. There is no room for questioning of the leader. No room for criticism or even for simply not going full ra-ra for something the--
leader says or does. It's a cult. Donald Trump has successfully turned the GOP into a cult that worships not America, not even religion or guns anymore, but Donald Trump. And anyone who dare do anything that could impede the person they worship is disposable. To these people--
they can always find another Pence, another lawyer, another Barr, but there is only one Trump. And to them, he comes first. His happiness and well being and power is totally tied to their own in their minds, so there is no room for dissidents. The GOP deserves this. They--
allowed this to happen because for a moment, it benefited them. They unleashed these monsters onto a society they didn't care about. But suddenly, the monsters realized there's a meal waiting for them back home, and they've come back to feast. They deserve to be eaten.
