Tumblr really broke a lot of your brains if you don't think the way to organize people is to speak to them nicely. People don't think with their brains, they think with their hearts. Even if their politics is nonsensical, if the group luring them are nice, people'll want to join!
The goal isn't to get your truth across in the most mean way possible -- it isn't INDIVIDUAL SELF EXPRESSION. The goal is to change the goddamn world. You do that by being nice to people. While you're flaunting your self-actualization the Nazis are baking the undecided cookies.
Sorry this is why we shouldn't let writers, journalists, and artists who might be marginalized but have all the class privileges in the world lead the bloody narrative, why we shouldn't let them lead political movements. Their individual liberation won't get us collectively free.
A thing I used to see a lot on Tumblr was "I'm not an activist I'm just a person w/ marginalizations trying to exist in this world so forGIVE me if I'm a jerk to people wanting a 101 education" which: is fine and valid, but then STOP PRETENDING TO BE AN ORGANIZER AS WELL LMAO
More committed organizers who can have a conversation with someone different them and fewer irritating rich kids who are just subjecting all of us to their ~personal journeys~
