Loving this episode of @WHWMonday ! I had been at the first Vince Russo Nitro in Sept '99, and I got a free ticket to this "Thunder" show in Salisbury, MD in December. Wow, what a mess it was. Thread below on what I remember from that night. @tonyschiavone24 @HeyHeyItsConrad

1) Literally no energy in the building. There was no music, no ring announcer warming up the crowd until maybe 30 seconds before they went live. Dead crowd + live TV = WCW.
2) Still remember the foam/gimmicked bats the nWo used, with one breaking. Crowd had been amped to see the new nWo, but once that happened, we laughed and mocked that. Kinda killed us.
3) NO. CLEAN. FINISHES. (maybe one?) And with the exception of the main event, every DQ was in a minute or less. Ugh.
4) LOL of the night: Big contingent in the upper deck of the Wicomico arena with signs exclaiming "Where's Van Hammer?". I had no idea he was from the Salisbury area. 4 months before M.I.A. was formed. Sorry, rafter rats.
5) The in-arena video showed the Goldberg incident, but it didn't register how bad of an injury it really was. We were so beaten down by a two-hour awful show, we were numb. I loved WCW, but this was when I knew it was going down. Sorry Tony, love ya. Good to see you on AEW!
