A small thread on Takasugi and my thoughts on his character as a whole:

Takasugi Shinsuke is an expertly crafted antagonist who easily has my favourite character progression in fiction. Seeing him change from a ruthless beast primarily focused on revenge to a better person who realised his mistakes and was willing to change was so-

-endearing to watch. The progression from SA to SSA was phenomenal and was probably my favourite part of the show post-S4. His dynamic with Gintoki is also fascinating as it shows that they're like two sides of the same coin: very similar but also very different. He would've-

acted like Gintoki did if he was in his position when losing Shoyo, while Gintoki would've acted like Takasugi if he was in his position instead. The concept of both of them being each other's alter ego was a really great concept that just made me appreciate their dynamic so-

To finish off: I love Takasugi, hes easily my favourite character in fiction and his character means a lot to me on a personal level. His dynamic with Gintoki is my favourite dynamic ever and he made Gintama even more enjoyable than i ever thought it'd be. My GOAT.
