So are the SNP hypocrites? They are humans and all humans are to some extent self-serving hypocrites. But that's irrelevant; the issue for Scottish independence is not "are the SNP hypocrites" it is "are we better off ruling ourselves than being ruled by others?"
And of course we are because a government of iScotland (which may or may not be the SNP) knows it needs Scotland's votes to get re-elected whereas a Westminster government doesn't; Boris Johnson would've still won in 2019 even if every single Scot voted against him,
so of course he doesn't much care what we think, he is in that just being rational and looking after his own interests.
