striking new highs, now may be a good time to talk about the relationship of money, happiness, and character
preface: ‘you’ with an excess $50k is no different than the ‘you’ with an excess $500k, $5M... etc.. your soul, morals, and values remain.

we’ll take your excess wealth and label it as our ‘W’ variable.
explained simply, if you want to know who you’d be after winning the lottery, its just [ C x W ]
your character remains the same but is amplified by the size of excess wealth you have access to.

your excess wealth only magnifies your pre-existing characteristics, it will never be the solution to the flaws in your personality.

stop associating money and personalities, saying “id donate if i had more money” or “i’ll manage my money once I move out” this is pure smoke for 99% of ppl. most will only talk the talk, no wonder everyone expects to be a rich but r in school getting a degree to be an employee
a popular thing to say is “i’d be happier if i won the lottery” but this isn’t true. it may solve your financial instabilities but it doesn’t solve your ability to be happy apart from money. its an easy distinction to make by yourself.

answer these questions:
- Do i buy things for their perception and social status representation or because i enjoy it for what it is?
- Do i donate because it makes me feel good or because i can say i donated?
- Is my lack in donations a result of being self centred?

the answer to these questions has nothing to do with lack of excess for most of us living in first-world countries. rather, it has everything to do with your morals and values.

the outcome is dependant simply on your personality variable, while the personality variable is independent of excess wealth.
its cliché but its true. if your happiness is derived from material items, then you will remain a victim of temporary phases of happiness.
