hopping on the book bandwagon by daring myself to read 30 books this year. this will be *that* thread.
1/30 I was dumb & turned my nose up at this because I thought it was a chicklit/romance novel (it unequivocally is NOT). This is about the power of friendship, fate and love not needing a future to survive. Does not end the way you think it does. Made me cry which gives it a 4/5.
2/30 a bit late with posting this one but in my commitment to read more nonfic this year, I chose Dr Cassidy’s excellent memoir and it’s incredibly eye opening and intriguing. Thanks to @long_gra for inspiring me to bump this up on my TBR list
Not for the faint hearted tho but excellent if you want a fair and honest view into the world of forensic pathology. Accessible language with the odd bit of humour thrown in too.
3/30 again I’m late with this one. I knew little of Caz before reading this but I found it to be a desperately honest account of living an extroverted life when you’re a die hard introvert
There’s a nice thread of humour through this but one essay in particular (Erase Me) really packed a punch for me and I felt like I was relieving my worst break up experience all over again
Overall, I can see *why* it’s getting panned but I really enjoyed this collection of essays for its brutal honesty on mental health and knowing your privilege. Cazzie, if ur looking for new friends u know where to find me.
