My first reaction to the UK delaying 2nd dose of Pfizer vaccine was to be completely against it.

But after hearing carefully reasoned arguments, I'm coming round to the idea.

It's amazing how some very high profile scientists and medics are unwilling to do that.
Important to add that a)I'm still not entirely convinced b) we are only being forced into this due to the absolutely dire state of the UK outbreak
Absolutely 100% I would want everyone (myself included) to have the 2nd dose at 3 weeks as planned. But I appreciate also the need to get as many people as possible get a first dose of vaccine, given the wildly out of control spread of Covid in the UK at present.
I think that giving a second dose at 12 weeks rather than 3 is highly likely to still be effective, whilst buying the UK another 3 months to get a single dose into as many people as possible- desirable given the totally rampant spread in the UK.
