One thought living in my head rent free lately is how thematically the designs of the death-lines for Shiki Ryougi and Shiki Tohno differ thematically.
The lines Shiki Tohno sees are terrifying, grotesque almost, very fitting considering the lines disgust and scare him deeply. His inner monologues anytime he takes off his glasses make it very apparent that,at least at the start of tsukihime, doesnt want to have to see them for
too long. added to that it literally fries his brain if he overuses them. For shiki tohno the things he sees because of the MEoDP's are a fragile world that could collapse any moment. He is a normal human being confronted with the very concept of death in the msot direct way.
Meanwhile for Shiki Ryougi they are beautiful and "fit in" with the surroundings. As she is born inherently connected with the root and death as a concept.
Death is part of her and she develops to accept it as part of live,Her male persona SHIKI even being downright fascinated
with the concept.
Essentially while death and with it the eyes are part of Shiki Ryougi as she is a special existance,Shiki Tohno is a (somewhat) normal human whose existance isnt meant to be confronted as directly with death as he is.
If you wonder why no image for shiki's view,it's because i coudlnt find any on google and was too lazy to search more deeply🦍
