I want to say one thing about the "new army stay off stan twt" talk: It sounds like a good idea, because then they're first and foremost seeing BTS' content without the extra commentary which can be harmful, but it's also not realistic. And, we're preaching to the choir. +
Fact of the matter is, a lot of new army join stan twitter because they also want someone to talk with about their new love for BTS. I wasn't on stan twt for 4 years from 2015-19, but I had a group of people irl who I could talk to about BTS. Some people don't have that. And I +
don't think it's fair to deprive them of that experience just because they're new and need to guard themselves from solos/mantis. Rather than try to keep them away, maybe we should work more on offering the right tools to help their experience here go in the right direction. +
Twitter could actually be the one platform they are informed on if we change this conversation. YT for sure isn't it. Official BTS videos often lead to edits and compilations — which can be fine, but not all of them are. I just think if we want new army to be led in the right +
direction, *we* need to lead them. And we say, "watch official BTS content first, and listen to the boys themselves," but have you ever thought about how intimidating that can be? It's like, as Dave said, suddenly deciding you want to get into Marvel. It's a daunting task. +
Some people need someone to help guide them, and that is what we need to be doing. There's no reason a new army shouldn't have a healthy stan experience here, even if they're a Jan. 2021 account (that sounds so weird). We just have to be better as a whole.. thoughts?
