i think my actual spiciest conspiracy theory is that appeasement essentially didnt happen. fact is that in the 1930s the soviet union had more men in uniform than the rest of the world combined and only poland and germany stood between it and western europe

and there was a deliberate effort by european powers to strengthen germany and herr hitler because it was a bulwark against any potential soviet activity

i mean in january 1940 germany had 1,200 tanks, france had 1,400 tanks and britain had 1,000 tanks, and the soviets had 6,000 tanks. and they had a much more nailed down clausewitzian triangle due to their control of resources and a monopoly on state power

and the soviets had the best tanks in the world the tiger tank was total shit. the KV-1 was built in 1936 and trialled in the spanish civil war and in 1941 the germans still didnt have an anti-tank piece that could reliably penetrate its armour

i mean the crews of german AT guns used to call the pak-36 the 'doorknocker' because it knocked on the door but didnt open it

at the battle of raseinai a single KV tank sat on a crossroads and stopped an entire german tank division for a day because they couldn't knock it out, nothing could penetrate its armour

essentially a clausewitzian traingle is people/government - economy - military, take out any of these three points on the triangle and you win the war

and the soviets had an authoritarian government that had negated public opinion through a functioning totalitarian state, a massive military, and a self-sufficient economy that actually exported the basic war materials such as food, oil, steel etc.

the western powers essentially understood this and saw the size of the red army and deliberately empowered herr hitler against this greater threat

and you know it was a little strange the way the french government fought that war

because i mean i'm no expert on france in the 1930s but it seems like about 40% of the country was communist and the other 60% had all kinds of politics but was anything but communist, and there was a feeling of maybe the germans would sort this issue out

it cant be escaped that the french ended the battle for france with more aircraft than they started with, because they refused to commit airpower which would have shredded the german stuka bombers, which were total shit and got shot down all the time because they were so slow

and that certain elements of the french elite kind of wanted the nazis to win because herr hitler would handle the damn red problem

its not surprising the french lost the battle of france because essentially their ruling class wanted to lose, and wanted to be rid of their troublesome population of communists

and ultimately thats the basis for our friends in the gladio outfit you know

its been written out of history but there was a massive communist resistance to nazi occupation in france and the low countries and italy, and it was in conflict with that 'churchill's secret army' horseshit

you see there were communist parties all over europe and they held real political power, and when the germans invaded the libs and the tories all got on planes and went to the UK but the reds werent invited

they instead went underground and resisted the nazis. and the SOE and the OSS was late to the party, the communists had been there all along, waging class stuggle

the reds had a network of trade unionists and politicians developed before the war and they were on the nazi's hitlist, first to be exucuted, they went underground and fought the war all the way through

they didnt launch attacks that would result in reprisals against the civilian population beacuse they needed them for support, for sustenance and survival, they couldn't alienate the local people.

the OSS came later on. they only really got going in 42, 43, and later, when all the spivvs, gangsters, collaborators and sympathizers had seen stalingrad happen and knew which way the war was going and needed protection and to launder their reputation

the OSS and SOE would believe any story you told them and would take any cunt into their operation. so you had blackmarketeers who would get a parachute drop of fifty pistols for the resistance and when they got to the resistance there would only be twenty pistols,

becuase they had sold them off to the fucking germans, whose weapons were all going to the eastern front so truck drivers and typists and people like that were undefended but they got a regular sallary so they were relatively rich.

they could buy guns. they could buy off the very people who they were supposed to be fighting

the fucking scum black market bastarrds who the SOE and OSS recruited

when the germans invaded there were all sort of people ready to offer hotels and bars and administrative support for the occupying forces and by 1943 they could see the way the war was going so they joined the OSS resistance its not complicated at all

thing is these were small towns, everybody knew each other, the people knew who had let the germans stay in their hotels and who had given them typewriters for their admin staff to use, whose garages had serviced their Sd.Kfz's

they knew what was in store for them if they were liberated, they'd helped the germans

everyone knew the local petty gangsters who had sold out the local jewish families to the germans in exchange for getting the furniture out of their houses after those families had been put on the trains, everyone knew

so they joined the SOE resistance of course

and the local population hated the SOE and OSS backed resistance because they knew they were all spivs and symps and scumbags

and it didn't matter that these people were hated by the local population becuase they could get medicine and guns and food in airdrops straight from british airbases, they didnt need to keep the locals on their side like the communists did

then after the liberation you know the communist cells deactivated, they buried their guns and explosives in the woods and let the allies come through

but the thing is they still existed and the allies knew that at the end of the war, these people who felt an affinity with moscow not washington dc were still living in these areas that lay across supply lines that would have been used in the event of war with the soviets

and so of course they reactivated their gangster connections in the SOE/OSS resistance networks, the ex-fascists too, to take out these pesky reds who would surely aid the soviets against nascent NATO powers

thats why the head of the belgian communist party was assinated in 1950 by persons unknown outside their house, it was the collaborators who had become OSS agents in 1943 and 1944 to keep themselves alive in the postwar order

theres a great mads mikkelsen movie about this phenomenon called 'flame and citron' and i would recommend it and its so seldom acknowledged that this happened

i still think about this rifle the british developed in early 1945 called the 'viper', it was a sten gun that physically could not be fired from the shoulder only from the hip

ostensibly it was for motorcycle messengers but i dont believe it personally. it was for german auxilliaries for an occupation of germany in the event of a war with the soviets

basically the german supply of food in the last two years of the war was incredibly fragile, and had a war between the western powers and the soviets broken out it surely would have collapsed entirely

so you have millions of western troops in germany fighting ten million soviets you've got to keep them supplied, but around them is a sea of german civilians whose food supply is nonexistant

so theres this question of how you maintain bases of food supply, when you need every many at the front to stop ten million soviet troops, you obviously recruit local germans who can defend your rear areas for you

but you can't give them weapons that can be used to fight against your troops, because they cant be trusted obviously, so you give them a gun that is full-auto only, has no sights, phsycally can't be aimed from the shoulder, hip-fire only.

its *sole function* is firing into crowds of people, who may be starving and massed outside an allied supply depot behind the front lines

and its just this logic thats lifted from Threads 100%, of using locals to passify their neighbours in a way they doesnt threaten your own troops. extreme cynicism and morbid logic

and its this same logic that was developed post-war as the threat abated somewhat, and there was this settling-in of the cold war, and that was the basis for gladio. the connections were already there

in europe under occupation, towards the end when it became clear the germans were losing, a cynical nexus was developed that combined a nascent NATO post-world order with collaborating fascists, spivs and spooks, a community that has its descendants even today

i think about the kuomintang army that fled to rural cambodia, laos and myanmar, and was always CIA connected, and which set up the first opium operation. those soldiers married local women and whose childen still control opium production in that region to this day

i wonder sometimes if it is perhaps all a sham, our whole facade of democracy and even nation states and national interests, and that in truth there is one great capitalist order which truly rules the west with no allegiance except to itself

that each time a north korean freighter was caught in the 90s and 00s with processed CIA heroin that perhaps the red flag states are also captured, that there really is no place on earth that is not somehow secretely dominated and controlled from virginia

and afghanistan was not made for this also. that in the 50s, 60s, and 70s when american engineers built the hydroelectric dams that the goal was in fact to raise the water table and make it ripe for heroin production, and that the war in afghanistan was a protection of investment

you know if they really do control the worlds heroin production then it must be trillions of dollars PER YEAR that are earned in black money, which the CIA control, and the drugs are used to pacify and criminalize a restive population

and with that kind of budget it becomes a question of what they might get up to with all that, and when so much has been done in the past, its a question of what could be off the table in terms of sheer economic capacity

is it so much of a stretch to wonder if the real coup was in 1963, and JFK was the last real president of the free world

the official story, what people today tell you to believe, is that lee harvey oswald was in US military intelligence, in the U2 spyplane operation, and defected to the soviet union, and then gary powers' U2 got shotdown while Oswald was there

and while in the soviet union he married the daughter of a KGB colonel of intelligence, and then with her he defected back to the united states and joined a virulently anti-red white russian emigre community in texas

and at the same time he was a committed communist who was handing out pro-castro leaflets in new orleans, while basically his adopted family were white russian anti-communists

and theres this whole oil industry connection which is fucking weird on its own merits

so, america had a lot of oil but used most of it up fighting ww2, but knew it might have to fight ww3 with the soviet union, and if it wasnt a button-pushing nuke war that war was going to be far larger and would need to be fought with someone else's oil

and you know this is where america's weird relationship with saudi comes into it. because saudi oil was a proven deposit and it was going to be necessary for fighting any war with the reds

but anyway in the 50s the american oil industry was heavily intertwined with state activity, out of necessity

and lee harvey's best friend in texas was George de Mohrenschildt who was a fucking petroleum geologist. the longest testimony of any witness after the assassination was from this fucking dude

and then you have the bush family who were all fucking texas oil freaks and heavily intertwined with oil, the state, skull and bones informal deep state connections, and bush snr was in dallas the day kennedy got snuffed

if we can as individuals, or as organizations which we might form, be picked off and destroyed by this ethereal ruling power which is capital that operates via state function, then theres no hope. but i dont believe its true

because i think that there is no individual we are all one person, one soul, one consciousness, and we are all linked and we are all one person. and the rulers who have done this to us are have to work extremely hard to alienate themselves from the people who they know are them

i think thats a major fear of mine as well. that these people who have such incredible wealth and power, have alienated themsevles from this world-soul and traded it for property and fleeting experiences, themselves no longer want to even be alive

you might think with climate change and an inevitable collapse of the economic system which they can see coming even more clearly than you can, that they might act in self-preservation. but maybe they wont

they traded their own humanity for experiences which they've had and stuff they already own and are now bored with, and wouldnt mind terribly if they died because they've got nothing else to live for

i mean this is why i can fully believe they all fuck kids because why wouldnt you. its not about sexual attraction to children its about trying something new and different, and rare and exciting. but once you've done that theres nothing really left to do

without what is essentially a spiritualist conception of the world, which if these people had they'd immidiately commit suicide out of shame, there's only STUFF and they've already experienced all the stuff they could ever want

so there's nothing left for them to do except die, its the last thing they can conceptualize which they havent already experienced. and because they have no common humanity why wouldnt they take down the world with them. i believe they could do it

and i dont know i mean theres very few of them and the vast majority of people havent been captured by this. and with automization maybe there's a real limit on our capacity to force change through labour action. labour action is itself limited

because perhaps theres a real limit on what could even be concievably achieved even though collective action, if these collectives even existed which they largely dont

and i have to admit that perhaps it is locked in, that the war was lost many decades ago, that the bad guys won, that its like when fucking ozzymandias in watchmen had already blown up all the city centres after the owl guy and rorshach and dr manhattan had gotten to him

and *maybe* thats true but its the same here, with all things, as it is with conspiracies. there is no one truth but many different truths and they are all inscrutable to some degree

but just the same you cant live in the hypothetical, you need to act, and i have to act as though one of these things is true, and i know i will be better off if i act as though it is possible that this power can be overcome even if it cannot

and really at the end of the day nothing has actually changed has it. even if everything i have said has some veracity (and its possible none of it does, its possible the magic bullet theory is real) it doesnt change your relationship to anything

because marxism is just another word for humanity and it was in us all along

even so i'm strangely well-adjusted to our current situation, its all been kind of normal to me, i've never felt like breaking down under the last few years even as things get stranger and stranger in my life

i think this is another point of entry for spiritualism because i have adopted a kind of fatalism in my life that comes from accepting my own lack of power to change the world. whatever is going to happen is going to happen and theres really nothing i can do about it

like if we all act together maybe something might change, but its possible we wont do that. i have faith that we might but maybe we wont. and in accepting that perhaps the world will end in my lifetime and looking at that possibility square in the eye theres a certain relief
