Let's kick off the year with a fresh TBR list. What 2021 #kidlit titles are you looking forward to reading? We can never have too many of these threads. @PBTroupe21 @21fortheBooks @ForGrowingMinds @Forever21PBs @Soaring20sPB @SteamTeamBooks
I'll name a few... Coming 4/6/21 is YOUR MAMA by @NoNieqaRamos and @_jacqueline_ill from @versifybooks.
Another from @versifybooks is HOW TO WEAR A SARI by @darshanakhiani and @jlewvriethoff. Coming 6/22/21.
ANIMALS GO VROOM! is an adorable novelty concept by @AbiCushman, coming from @VikingChildrens on 7/13/21.
BRACELETS FOR BINA'S BROTHERS by @rajanilarocca and @chaayaprabhat is part of @charlesbridge's fun and much-needed Storytelling Math series. Releases 4/20/21.
I've already preordered UNSPEAKABLE by @poetweatherford and @floydcooper4. It's appalling to me that the Tulsa Race Massacre happened one state away from me and I only learned of it after I turned 30. Kids and adults alike need this book.
@mstewartscience and @SarahBrannen have another book I'm super curious about: SUMMERTIME SLEEPERS: Animals That Estivate. Coming 4/27/21 from @charlesbridge.
My dear friend @tracisorell has two books coming this spring: CLASSIFIED: The Secret Career of Mary Golda Ross, Cherokee Aerospace Engineer (illus. by #NatashaDonovan, 3/2/21 from @LernerBooks) and WE ARE STILL HERE (illus. by @franelessac, 4/20/21, @charlesbridge).
DON'T HUG DOUG (by @CarrieFinison and #DanielWiseman, 1/26/21 from @putnambooks) and RISSY NO KISSIES (by @Kateywrites and @wasabipear, out 3/2/21 from @LernerBooks/ Carolrhoda) would make a great unit on consent in elementary classrooms.
EYES THAT KISS IN THE CORNERS by @JoannaHoWrites and #DungHo, out 1/5/21 from @HarperCollins, has breathtaking lyricism and affirmations.
