Letting complete strangers determine which stocks the portfolio should buy and sell each week using nothing but @Twitter polls was nerve racking to say the least.
But almost from the get go we were outperforming the benchmark S&P 500 and never looked back.

$WERAMP ended 2020 +30.71% ($3,071) on a $10,000 investment with a max drawdown of -22.7% (during the March pandemic crash).

Shockingly, the stocks that received the 3rd most votes each week did the best over the course of the year.

Hindsight 20/20:
How would $WERAMP have performed if we were somehow lucky enough to pick the best performing stock each week?

Of the 208 stocks that entered the $WERAMP polls throughout the year, 109 (52%) of them outperformed the S&P 500 over the respective 5-week period.
The biggest 5-week gainer was $PLTR which jumped 191.5%!
The biggest 5-week loser was $SEDG which dropped -40.28%!
We never owned either of them.

Here are a few lessons I learned throughout the process:
The voters don’t give a shit about value stocks (rightfully so). Nearly every time we put one in the poll it got last place.
The more well known the stock, the better chance it has to win. (popularity vote)

Lessons learned (cont.):
Taking out all emotions and making this rules based helped tremendously. There were countless times my gut reaction was to break the rules and sell. Nearly every time it would have ended up being to our detriment.
