Coach Ruff's @NJDevils practices today started laying the groundwork for the team's identity of being more aggressive in the defensive zone and playing with increased "pace".
Drill sets had a strong emphasis on the D being more assertive to end plays in the DZ, actively having the D join the rush, and OZ plays where the D are looking to be more involved in creating offense and extending OZ possession time.
It will be interesting to see if Coach Ruff will tweak the forward line combinations each of the first few days or if he will keep them consistent to allow for chemistry to start building... 🤔
