I speak strictly for myself here, and I know politicians struggle to grasp this, but as a newspaper we publish a *variety* of opinions. You don't get to veto what our readers can read just because you disagree with it. We have also published plenty of articles by ministers
justifying the government's approach, including by the prime minister. As for the idea that there is no debate to be had over science or strategy, so we should just publish what you would personally prefer, that's both anti-free speech and silly. Public debate makes for
better policy. If the right strategy were obvious, and the government had followed it from day one, presumably thousands wouldn't be dead or the economy ruined?
