Lee Carter is emblematic of what is wrong with most popular “left wing” movements, and his run for Governor will be an incredible failure.

Simply my opinion

Left wing movements that focus on electoralism are basically destined to fail in America. Lee would be better served running in local races and using the publicity that the electoralism has to build separate power structures to help people directly.

Even if by some miracle he won the governorship it wouldn’t matter. It displays a fundamental misunderstanding of how the system works to believe that you can change it. People seem to believe that if they just get to the higher levels of power then they’ll be able to fix things

In fact the higher you go, it almost becomes less likely that you can bring structural change simply because the forces of capital move stronger at the higher levels. You’re better served working and organizing your community, that’s where the real powers lies.

Anyways I’d like to be proven wrong, and This is just my opinion but
