I’ve loved teaching all white boys, all white girls, multi cultural, gay, travellers, transgender etc etc
It’s been an education for me

I’m proud to be British. 
I’m proud of Britain
But I’m not precious about it
I love the students proud of their southern heritage, their northern heritage, their Scottish accents, their cockney roots

I equally love those proud of their Somali roots but happy to be living in My England, happy to hear British children, English born & bred with relatives from India, Pakistani Muslim, Jew, Hindu, Chinese, Nigerian back ground talk about visiting relatives & yes of course ...food
It fills me with such joy to see these students mix and create a British society that I loved but rebelled against cos it was racist and so so violent in the 60s & 70s
