In 4 games Joel Embiid’s usage rate is 29.7%. His lowest season ever was 32.9% (last seaosn) however you can see a significant jump in his game as compared to last season. The whole offense seems to be running smoother too. Team style of play is huge.
He is only 1 point off his career high average. 26.5 instead of 27.5.
Down 1 turnover per game 2.3 instead of 3.4
Assist are down 2.4 5 from a career 3.1 (but I’d guess he has more hockey assists than ever)
Career high in 2 and 3 point % - 56 and 38. Right on par for FGA

He is averaging the second most minutes of his career at 32.5 per game. 2018 he played 33.7.
This is obviously still a small sample size, but again it’s all stuff to keep an eye on. If he can keep up his play he will 100% be in the MVP race.

Obviously Tobias playing as well as he is, and Seth shooting the lights out helps Joel, but it works both ways. Joel’s play has really helped everyone one the court. His passing is crisp, he is recognizing things better, finding the open man, and making quick moves.
All this will make everyone around him better, and when they play better and hit shots, the defense really have to pick their poison. If the team continues to play too 10 defense (I think they may be even top 5 right now at least) they are gonna be fun to watch for sure
