1/ Now that we have data through the end of the year, let's compare the end-of-year values on these charts to the beginning of January 2020.

Cough-associated admissions are at 0.9%-1.0% of ED visits; last year, 0.8%.
2/ ED visits for cough are at 5% vs. 6% last year.

Visits for fever are at 5% vs. 8% last year.

Visits for shortness of breath are at 8% vs. 6% last year.

It's also super interesting that all of these were higher in March than July (when COVID was deadliest in FL).
3/ ED visits mentioning cough are almost exactly the same as last year for those 19+ years of age but significantly lower for 18-and-under.

Note again that March was FAR worse than July (when far more people died), indicating that media narratives can affect these numbers.
