Happy 2021 and good morning from New York's Penn Station! I've spent countless hours of my life waiting for trains in this underground dump.

That ends today. Sort of. Let's go take a look at the new Moynahan Train Hall, officially opened as of today 🎉
First off is the new @LIRR concourse entrance on 7th Ave. It's a grand entrance with a great piece of artwork - a map! – bei New York Penn Station
Moynihan Train Hall has several new entrances along 8th Avenue. These entrances opened a little while ago for access to @LIRR's West End Cooridor but now allow full access to the train hall. – bei Moynihan Train Hall
The Moynihan Train Hall, in all its finally open glory – bei Moynihan Train Hall
This kiosk in the new Moynihan Train Hall tries to answer the age old tourist question of "how do I get to my airport?"

It does it very poorly. This needs work. – bei Moynihan Train Hall
Here's the regular @Amtrak waiting room for ticketed passengers only. Very nice space. – bei New York Penn Station
. @Amtrak had opened a new Metropolitan Lounge for Acela First Class and select long distance passengers.
The best compliment I've heard is "it looks like an airline lounge." In this case, it's a big compliment. #PaxEx – bei Moynihan Train Hall
So Moynihan Train Hall isn't actually that useful for @LIRR passengers. You can't access tracks 17-21 from it, instead you have to exit and head back to the West End Cooridor.
This really is almost exclusively Amtrak access with a sprinkle of LIRR. – bei New York Penn Station
And now my tour of the new Penn Station Moynihan Train Hall ends with a walk back through regular Penn Station. Take it all in! – bei New York Penn Station
This waiting room is also open to ticketed @LIRR passengers, but the signage really doesn't make that clear https://twitter.com/airlineflyer/status/1345059776678551553
There are SO many different forms of digital schedule signage throughout Penn Station now. All sorts of shapes and sizes. There's really a lack of uniformity, but that's nothing new to Penn Station. – bei New York Penn Station
