Lots of dangerously uninformed and brainwashed people who work in medicine do so solely for a check. Part of this is because of you all who insist not only that college is only for money, but that STEM classes as well aren’t meant for learning but meant to be passed
This is partly how you get anti-vaxx doctors and pharmacists and partly how you get people who want to teach you financial literacy but couldn’t give you the main idea of a graf of a news story about say the budget of the city in which they live
When you put profit over education, personality over expertise, and capital over curiosity, you get people who believe in QAnon, people who vote for Trump... this is part of what’s currently weird about white Americans
And it’s not just white people! Black people be out here scamming in these avenues, too. Blessing looms, telling women they can yoni steam their way out of endometriosis, the other shit y’all be doing on here, etc etc
I say all this to say that I’m glad to be a Latin teacher. Latin is not the only classroom where children are in there learning just to learn, but that’s my why! Schooling in all & every subject is good in and of itself!! I hope we all put up boundaries against dipshits this yr!
