We all know we need a defensive midfielder that can hold the midfield on his own so I’ve looked at a couple players that I watch regularly and that are suitable for the job. Being Dutch myself I have the luxury to watch this man play weekly, so I know what he can do.

Koopmeiners his best attribute is his passing to either keep the ball in the side or to counter quickly and his ability to hit a long ball, something we lack when Pogba isn’t playing.

Koopmeiners also has his weaknesses, one major thing being his lack of pace and mobility without the ball, so he can get caught out of position on counter attacks for example.
He’s also very one footed so it could affect some of the passing angles but that could be worked on easily.
2. WHAT HE WOULD BRING TO THE TEAM.
There is a lot of things Koopmeiners would bring to Manchester United.

- Balance.
- Control over games.
- Flexability in formations.
And him being only 22 years old there is a lot of time to improve and help us.

He basically brings us a younger Matic, what is absolutely brilliant. He can hold the midfield on his own, that is what we lack with a Fred or McTominay. Him being able to take the ball of the back 4 free’s up Pogba to attack and create more chances.
3. COMPARING HIM TO SIMILAR PLAYERS.
I’ve compared Koopmeiners to the best players that play in his position and see how he does against them statistically.

This shows that he’s up there statistically with the world best defensive-midfielders and considering he’s younger than all of those players makes it even more impressive.
4. MY TAKE ON THE TRANSFER.
I personally would love this deal. He’s cheap, he’s class and he’s perfect Matic replacement. Me being Dutch makes it even better. Overall great deal for a great player.
