Right, as promised, the Pingosaurus recaps the year in cats... we start in January, which was tinged with sadness as we said goodbye to the best cat of all, my Graeme.
February brought a new kitten companion, as my local pub, the aptly named “Cat and Wheel” got a new kitten, named Toby. We were soon to discover that Toby was in fact a girl, and was rechristened Tobi with much fanfare
March brought with it the lockdown, and my adventures with cats were strictly limited to posting about Chonks on Sheds, a series of pictures of chonky cats sunning themselves on my friend Tom’s shed.
April lasted for six years, but with it came the first fleeting sighting of the legend that was to become known as #notmycat !
By May, #notmycat was visiting daily and while he was clearly still a bit wary of us, he was enjoying the sunshine on the patio and would spend hours rolling around, showing off impressive belleh floof.
The warm weather in June meant that we had the patio doors open, meaning that #notmycat was a regular visitor, and was feeling a lot more at home.
Remember in august when we thought everything was going back to normal? Yeah, me too. We got to see Tobi again, and spend my annual leave hanging out with #notmycat
By September it was clear that things were not going to be normal any time soon. This was evident in the best picture I’ve ever seen of two of @Suzywoo2222 ‘s cats...
But September also brought something else. As well as the regular visits by #notmycat, a new cat arrived, right at the end up the month. This, we would realise, was #notmycateither
October brought with it my birthday, and to my delight, a visit from both the #notmycats
However October will also be remembered for the Great Not My Cats Showdown, where the young upstart, #notmycateither saw off #notmycat
In November, #notmycateither cemented his place as the premier cat that didn’t belong to me, and took little time in getting all four paws firmly under the table. And on the table. And in the bed.
We said our goodbyes to #notmycateither in December, by now knowing that he had at least 4 other homes to go to.
Then it was time to move house, and the new #notmycats adventure began, first with Polar Cat and Angry Bengal
Soon after we met Sentry Cat and String Commander Ginger
And we rounded off 2020 with this little love, who we call Tank Cat.
And so 2020 drew to a close. A terrible, awful year for so many reasons, but which was made so much more bearable by the cats that showed up in my life just when I needed them. And here’s to more cats in 2021! 🐈 🐈‍⬛ 💕
