This is something a lot of women should consider. If only because so much of the prevailing cultural messaging is about showing women with a glass of wine. All TV shows now show that. It's come to stand for glamour and cool, like cigarettes used to. That's worth resisting. https://twitter.com/latimesent/status/1344709106293067776
It's an incredible coup of the hypocrisy of white men in media, entertainment and retail (and the women who enable them) that women are told they should be doing GOOP faux mass-market spirituality and "cardio yoga" as well as drinking wine at all times.
Something to consider: Wine has become the quaaludes/valium of 21st century womanhood. A convenient momentary distraction for structural misogyny.
You don't "need a glass of wine," you need liberation. You're living in a world hostile to women's existence and thriving.

Alcohol also causes some types of cancer, by the way. Pretty strong links. https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/causes-prevention/risk/alcohol/alcohol-fact-sheet
Anyway, I'm allergic to alcohol so I have to keep it to a minimum. But I also think it's important to limit it on feminist and health grounds. Anything that media and advertising sells to women should be regarded with the deepest suspicion.
