Twitter Tips for Twenty Twenty-One 👇 a thread
Twitter tip 1: Use line breaks

This may sound like a very boring tip.

However, 🕳 space 🕳 stops your tweet looking like a wall of text

‱ Bullet points are handy too
📈 Emojis work as bullets
🧠 And act as visual hints
đŸ€Ș Or suggest tone
Twitter tip 2: each tweet in a thread should work in isolation.

This isn’t the case with all threads but sometimes one point will resonate with people more than others.

If what you’re communicating is spread across two tweets, people might not pass on the knowledge.
Twitter tip 3: consider which format best conveys your message / idea / story / moment.

Sometimes a video can express a complex idea. Video is slow and 💰 sometimes the wrong medium.

Presenting information? Maybe use a clear infographic

Occasionally it’s a link 👋

Or a gif
Twitter tip 4: what are you trying to convey?

If it’s the time and place of an event, that should be front and centre. “On Saturday...”

Want someone to know your product will help them sleep? Lead with that!

Made a killer playlist? Maybe consider if that’s obvs before clicking
Twitter tip 5: say when

Like, “soon” or “today” makes sense right now but will it when an algorithm shows a tweet to someone 3 days from now?

đŸ€” Tomorrow might already be today when someone reads your post

🌍 Available globally? Use GMT

🚀 On demand after/forever? Nod to that
#TwitterTip 6: how to hashtag

#SomePeople clutter their #socialmedia with lotsa hashes.

Your project’s hashtag may not “trend”.

Whereas a big trending topic like #SmallBusinessSaturday might help surface your post to relevant audiences.

Think of hashtags as a filing system:
Twitter tip 7: Stop posting square images

Annoyingly, Twitter’s default image size is 16:9.

This means your square image will crop.

See tip 6 for a simple work around for portrait images using 3 images

Twitter tip 8: information is boring

Can you enrich something flat to create something rounded?

Think 🌏 đŸ—ș or 🚀

Remember: there’s a huge difference between an adventure and a list of directions.

Twitter tip 9: be “sociable”

Avoid broadcasting to “The Many”. And quit talkin’ to yo’self...

Conversation is crucial:
đŸ€ it engages existing followers
👋 AND attracts newbies
