#2021
1. Prioritise relationships: Research consistently shows us that the quality of our relationships determine the quality of our lives. Yes, can be tricky at the moment with the restrictions, but technology (Facetime/Skype) can be a huge help.
2. Phone free time every day: Even 10 minutes of intentional solitude can be transformative. Helps you tune into how you are feeling and increases awareness of emotions.
3. Go outside for a lunchtime walk every day: helps reduce stress, exposes you to natural light which is helpful for sleep, and can make you more productive and creative when you get back.
4. Try not to take things personally. A tricky one for many of us but even small improvements in this area can make a huge difference to how we feel.
5. Judge others (and yourself!) less. A consistent practice of judging less helps us have a more compassionate relationship with the world around us and to ourselves. More important now than ever before.
6. Acknowledge 1 thing you are grateful for each day. Simply pausing and doing this each day can help shift your mindset from negative to positive.
7. Prioritise sleep. Yes, sleep can be tricky but for some of us simply prioritising it (e.g. having an alarm for bed time!) can make a big difference. Other quick wins: no caffeine after noon, limit tech before bed, journalling before bed or breathing practices like 3-4-5
8. Daily dose of passion. Try to do something you love each day, even for just 5 minutes. Helps make you more resilient to stress. Could be reading, watching favourite comedian on YouTube, listening to a podcast or chilling to your favourite tunes.
My suggestion would be to choose 1 or 2 that you like and see if you can do them consistently. And, remember, we are all perfectly imperfect. If things don't go to plan one day, that's ok. It doesn't make you weak or a failure. It means you are human.
