She married to paramathattan.her husband soon successful in business. got much wealth name and fame.they lived happily.she fed sanyasis and shiv devotees always. one day one friend of paramathattan gave him 2 mangoes of exotic variety.

He sent it to her for afternoon lunch. one shaiva sanyasi came for lunch.she gave him curd rice and one of the mango.when husband came home he asked about the mangoes. she gave one mango. He found it tasty so he asked for another one.she donno what to do.
She prayed to lord Shiva. mango appeared in her hand.she gave it to husband.He found Mango was more tasty than first one.he realised it was not one he gave him.he asked her about truth. as dutiful wife she told truth.he can't believe it and as she prayed Mango appeared again.

Husband shocked.he thought she was great devotee and he can't live with her as husband and wife.he fell at her feet left her and went to another city.she decided to take up rigorous sadhana and wanted ghost like form so no one could disturb her.shiva granted her wish

She travelled temple to temples.she went to Kailash.sge saw Kailash as whole Shiva himself.hence she didn't walk by legs but walked by her hands. seeing her devotion Shiva called her ammaiyar meaning my mother

She wished to see Shiva dance.she was directed by Shiva to go-to thiruvalangadu. she went there and saw dance of Shiva and Shakti.she sang poems on shiva and merged with him there.her statue at feet of Sri nataraja still at temple
