I wrote something in a similar vein, after I noticed shamelessly untethered from reality misconceptions about books/ideologies being repeated. My biggest takeaway? Even reading the Wikipedia page or watching a few intro YouTube videos for a writer like Adorno, for instance, will allow you to speak more intelligently & accurately than 99% of people.
