Big Zulu need to be civil and welcoming. Personally I think he didn't win because he made his craft a Zulu thing. Even when asking for votes he wud only address his "nkabi nation". Nothing wrong with that, but to win in a national stage he needs everyone's support

I think Big Zulu had an advantage since Hip Hop is relatable nationwide which means more support, unlike maskandi which is a bit tribal thing. But problem he limited himself to his tribe - which is dominated by maskandi.
I know maskandi is a very dominant genre. But how often do we have a maskandi song winning song of the year in national awards??
He wanted to make his fan base in a maskandi territory. He will never succeed in that area. He must just acknowledge that he is a national treasure and embrace everyone. Period!
I don't think saying 'Ukhozi fm is a maskandi station' justify anything. Prince Kaybee won it in 2018. What's the catch?

No disrespect for Khuzani though. He is a big artist.
